With whispers of this workout’s grand arrival, I wrote this Master’s Hammer and Chisel review, and how it has helped me get over my fear of lifting weights.

How does Master’s Hammer and Chisel differ from 21 Day Fix Extreme or Body Beast?
Sagi Kalev and Autumn Calabrese combined their own effective body-sculpting techniques into one comprehensive resistance-training program.
• Body Beast is a bodybuilding program that focuses on muscular hypertrophy. The Master’s Hammer and Chisel includes aspects of bodybuilding, but also focuses on improving endurance, power, agility, strength, balance, and range of motion to sculpt a powerful, defined physique.

- The use of dumb-bells is prevalent in this fitness program, and depending on your budget, you can either get the adjustable weights(which can help give you a good range of weights AND save space) or start like I did with 2-3 sets of dumb-bells: To start, I recommend men get anywhere between 10 to 25 lbs and women get 5 to 15 lb weights.

Week 1 Overview
Week 1 was pretty tough…and surprisingly my buns were the only major thing I could detect that felt a visible soreness. Having done PiYo for almost 5 months, transitioning to more rep-based iso training is going to take a bit of getting used to…but not impossible. I however did enjoy the duration of the workouts and not absolutely dripping in sweat when I was done.
Here is what week 1 looks like for a workout schedule:
- Chisel Balance: A total body workout creating stabilization, muscular endurance, and core strength
- Hammer Plyometrics-A jump training workout that uses your entire body to create force, speed, and power
- Iso Strength Chisel- An intense resistance workout using isometric holds and flexibility to increase strength
- Rest Day- Thank you sweet baby Jesus. I don’t think I was ever so over-joyed to rest my body. I will say I felt fully rested and the soreness is slowly disappearing.
- Iso Speed Hammer- A tempo training workout that uses speed and isometric holds to create strength and grow muscle.
- Chisel Endurance- Increase muscular endurance and strength in this time-under-tension workout
- Total Body Hammer-A hypertrophy workout focused on pyramid-style sets to maximize strength and muscle growth.

What if I don’t want to get bulky, I just want to tone and lose weight?
Fear not! I always feel there is a negative stereotype, especially amongst us girls, about lifting weights and developing super huge, scary muscles.
